So here is the point where I feel kind of shit cos my artwork hasn't sold, either my work is shit or I have priced them too high! So post exhibition these works will come down in price by 20% (the gallery expense) I'm also willing to take bids below this if you really love it, thus if anyone is interested give me a yell!

More preview!
So this new series is all about responding to the canvas, so I have begun by splashing paint and being completely uninhibited, then I have cut that large canvas into smaller yet still big paintings (1200x1400)
Then I have responded to those marks. with lines and colour and from there I respond to that building up layers of colour and shape untill I feel that I have pushed the piece to its optimum point... Which is the hardest part... Abandoning the art and deciding it is finished...
Fab right?

(minor deet change) HIM.
So I have altered the content of the exhibition, so instead of portraits of other people, this shit is all about me now.
Hence the title change:
Him
@the gallery on waymouth
June 5th - June 29th
Ryan's second solo exhibition, a series of self portraits in varying styles, exploring the inner monologue of the artist and the concept of being removed from one's self.
When you paint yourself or people around you, they are seen from a new aspect, I am no longer 'me' I become 'him'.
An exploration of self from a third person perspective.

Him & Them
Tuesday July 5th @ 6.pm
GALLERY ON WAYMOUTH!
As an artist when painting yourself and those around you they become subject matter, they are removed and your view is from a new perspective. Being the third person, it is no longer 'me' and 'us', you become 'him' and 'them'.
'A series of portraits exploring my world from the view of an outsider'

Expressionist/Impressionist
Here I am really focusing on working with this technique and focusing on portraits and other figurative work.
I will be doing more in this style, but for this series I have decided to add a halo around most of my figures...
I think it harks back to that fascination with old school religious iconography, the simplicity of it, and the way a simple circle around the head can add this new layer of meaning; grandeur, spiritualism, divinity???
Anyway Ill let you make up your own minds about the pieces... Enjoy!
